Centenary Methodist Church is blessed to welcome Rev. Carl D. Palmer, who began his ministry here on October 1, 2023.  Born and reared in Ohio, and a lifelong Methodist, Pastor Carl is a 1994 graduate of The Ohio State University, where he received a B.A. in Communications with an emphasis in classical Greek rhetoric.  Called to a career in ministry, he completed a Master of Divinity degree in 1998 from Asbury Theological Seminary in Kentucky, and was ordained as a Methodist minister in Arkansas.  While at Asbury, he met and married his wife and fellow student Denni, who also obtained her divinity degree. They are the parents of seven teenage and young adult children, five of whom are adopted.

Before coming to Centenary, Pastor Carl served 27 years as a Methodist minister, mostly in northwest Arkansas, both as senior pastor and associate pastor for several congregations.  Throughout his career, he has had a special interest in substance abuse recovery programs, serving a number of church and civic organizations in leadership capacities.  He also taught leadership and biblical studies on the college level, and is completing his own studies as a doctoral candidate in Organizational Leadership at Asbury Seminary.

Pastor Carl brings to Centenary a Bible-based Wesleyan theology, wholly in tune with the foundational principles of the Global Methodist Church.  And as our members will attest, he is an engaging, inspiring and Spirit-filled preacher.  Moreover, he is fully committed to pastoral care, evangelical outreach, and community involvement.  Yes, we are blessed indeed at Centenary Methodist Church!

Pastor Carl Palmer recently gave a presentation reflecting on his first 100 days of ministry here at Centenary, and what his plans are for the future!
